Steven K. Tjoa received the B.S. degree in computer engineering in 2004 and the M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in electrical engineering in 2006 and 2011 from the University of Maryland, College Park.
From 2005 to 2011, he was a graduate research assistant with the Signals and Information Group at the University of Maryland. He has earned awards from the University of Maryland including a Presidential Scholarship in 2000, the George Corcoran Memorial Award from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2007, a Future Faculty Fellowship from the Clark School of Engineering in 2008, a Graduate School Summer Research Fellowship in 2008, and a Graduate Student Service Award in 2008.
Dr. Tjoa is currently a research engineer at Imagine Research, Inc. in San Francisco, CA. He is sponsored by a Small Business Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the U. S. National Science Foundation. His research interests include machine learning, signal processing, music information retrieval, and digital image forensics.
