Steven K. Tjoa received the B.S. degree in computer engineering in 2004 and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering in 2006 from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering.

Since 2005, he has been a graduate research assistant with the Signals and Information Group at the University of Maryland. His research interests include multimedia signal processing, music information retrieval, and digital image forensics.

Mr. Tjoa has earned awards from the University of Maryland including a Presidential Scholarship in 2000, the George Corcoran Memorial Award from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2007, a Future Faculty Fellowship from the Clark School of Engineering in 2008, a Graduate School Summer Research Fellowship in 2008, and a Graduate Student Service Award in 2008.
