I am a software engineer at Google working on machine learning for Play Store recommendation.
I served on conference committees for organizations such as ACM, IEEE, and ISMIR. I co-authored 13 articles and peer-reviewed over 100 manuscripts. For research publications, see Google Scholar.
I was the director of the annual workshop on music information retrieval at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University. Check out musicinformationretrieval.com, a collection of educational notebooks related to music information retrieval.
I received a Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a U. S. National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellowship. I was born and raised in New Jersey, USA.
I play the violin. In 2023, I joined the first violin section of the Santa Cruz Symphony. I am also a regular substitute with the Oakland Symphony and Bay Philharmonic.
From 2014 to 2017, I served as concertmaster of the San Francisco Civic Symphony, the oldest and largest community orchestra in northern California. I sometimes perform with impromptuSF, Classical Revolution, and Awesöme Orchestra.
I used to go busking in San Francisco.
